The soccer field by my apartment is literally my favorite place in the world. (read that like Rob Lowe's character from Parks and Rec).
I go to undress my spirit when it has put on the business suit of stress that law school demands.
The mood is best early in the morning, right before the sun comes up or in the evening, just after it has gone down. I like to make trails in the dew as I pretend to be a right-footed Robin Van Persie, scoring the winning goal that assures Manchester United will be relegated.
I go in the sun, rain, wind and snow. My favorite are the spring and fall mornings that are cold enough to merit a long sleeve shirt and a hat.

Booger Foul
(Notice: no picture due to the graphic nature of this post.)
I'm busy making black boogers. All day long, that's what I do, I mean, that's what I'm doing. Sure I'm chopping, trimming, raking, tarping, dumping, sweeping, etc. but that's all sand in my noyster. And every evening in the shower, with the aid of a Iranian water inhalation ceremony, out come the pearls ... black and beautiful. Sometimes I wonder what boogers the other estate-members/dirty-ponchos are making this break. I'd guess
David's making sun-burn boogers – flakey, red, hard.
Cody's making book boogers – sterile.
Alban's making the same boogers George Washington made – Alban'd have to tell you what they're like, he and G-Wash are boos.
Phil's making janitorial boogers – think "vacuum-bag contents" ... in a booger.
It's the truth, and the truth isn't always pretty. But if blogs aren't willing to call it as it's played then they shouldn't be reffing – black, white, salty.

Someone please wash the dishes
Working on my lit anal paper late at night produced thoughtfulness (although any homework assignment has the potential to inspire totally unrelated thoughts). Alban, who is sitting here screwing up his physics homework, asked me if I felt guilty about having the friends I do.
No, I don't. I used to feel guilty sitting with my friends in the cafe or cloistering myself away to play effing hail with Alban and Alex. But then, I remembered sitting by myself in the cafe at Evergreen and watching movies in my empty apartment in Olympia. I've been to the valley and I am not about to repent for standing on the mountain top. When I think about the people I hang out with, and especially those I live with, I am overcome with an intense joy. Maybe it's gloating, but I would rather be with the people I am always with than with any other group of people on the planet.
We can't seem to stay on top of the dirty dishes. Oh, and someone keeps getting food spots on the dish rags.
